It's realistic that the Pirates could go out & spend $20M on FA's this year {They won't do it} but, It could get 3 top line players. Let's have a vote what 3 legit FA's would you want to see signed & for how much each? Remember $20M. view post

Young Bucs

Now that Tabata has been called up lets see if the Bucs do the correct thing by starting him in left field not right. It makes them stronger defenseively. I Millidge is upset by going to right - well play better. view post
Pirates rotation

Buc4life: Have to get the rotation in line again. Return of Ohlendorf will help considerably. Need Hart to give it a lift. Thanks for the input. PL view post
Pedro Alvarez Jersey

With Delwyn Young changing his jersey number from 48 to 24, what number will Pedro wear when he gets called up in June? He's wearing 17 in spring training, but usually random numbers are assigned until a player makes the major league roster. I'm trying to get his authentic jersey, but being impatient! view post
Pirates interested in Rick Ankiel...
Posts: 0 Category: Hot Stove Talk
The Pirates have confirmed they have an interest in free agent outfielder (former pitcher) Rick Ankiel. The fact they're even in the conversation is insane. Why do the Bucs need him? Everyone in Pittsburgh complains about Brandon Moss, yet his average was better last season and Ankiel had only 4 more HR's than Moss. The only reason Ankiel's numbers were even remotely decent was because of the amount of talent surrounding him. If they end up signing him, it better be for only 1 year, respecting the fact that Tabata will hopefully be ready soon. Other than that, the only reason to sign him would be trade bait, which I completely agree with. If he is doing solid, trade him for solid prospects. Hopefully he won't be in the conversation come April... view post
Will the Dodgers or Philliles Advance?

I'm thinkin' the Phillies will surprise the Dodgers and spoil the return of Joe Torre to the Bronx. Phils have the bats and some darn good pitching. Ryan Howard trumps Manny in my book. view post
