CREATE A NEW TOPICMatt Capps
I have become troubled by the struggles of Matt Capps lately. His control seems to be no where near what it has been in the past and its creating a lot more problems than just walks. He's leaving pitches up and over the plate, never a good thing for a closer. A lot of Capps' struggles have come in non-save situations this year, and I have always believed he should never be used in a tie game. Hitters take a different approach in a tie game and are much more aggressive, especially when facing a hard throwing strike thrower like Capps. When down by a few runs in a save situations, hitters are looking more for any opportunity to get on base and are much more passive. Capps often times will get ahead in the count in these situations and make it difficult for the hitter to battle back. However, this year his control seems to not be as effective as it has been in the past, yet his velocity is still there. Wondering if its mechanical or mental?

Matt Capps is saying the plan was wrong,it wasnt the plan it was the pitcher.they wanted the pitch high and tight and he throws it right down the middle of the plate.

Are you kidding me? This is the first time Jeff Clement has ever played firstbase in his baseball career and hes already better at the position that your gf Adam Dunn. He was sent to the minors to learn the position because hes usually a Catcher/DH. And 2 homers in his first game sounds pretty good to me. Maybe you should do your research before you comment on a post. And i think we already determind the fact that NH DOES NOT CARE WHAT YOU SAY. End of story

"They couldnt call him up again or they would have lost him" Yeah, put a top 20 up on me for things you misinterpret. This quote shows your the biggest idiot in Pittsburgh. If NH was really reading your posts, why did he make the right moves this week and trade Jack, Freddy, Snell, Gorzo, and Grabow? Your a moron. Your not even a good arm-chair GM.

"the greatest player of all time"? Really, are you that retarded? 3 blogs down, you said about Clement not being able to "field a lick" what about Dunn? He is absolutely horrible! And you said he will legitimately break the home run record? No chance in*****he will come close... And first ballot HOF? Once again, way off, he will never be a Hall of Famer. NEVER... He does not play baseball, he plays home run derby and still isn't in the race at the end of the year with guys in the likes of Albert Pujols or Ryan Howard... You said you were just watching because of Dunn, I guarantee you will still have posts on here next week after this series. So just give it up

clement hasnt played with the mariners all year. he was being blocked by johjima, and branyan. they left him at AAA so that he could get adapted to 1st base. serg, this is really getting old. if the pirates bother you that much, just stop following them.

And to make a point on the whole "Brian Bixler playing CF" part of the argument. Management figured he would be better suited for Utility work because hes not good enough to be a starting middle infielder, you've said it yourself serg. Plus hes been swinging for power since moving there. Also kudos to Jeff Clement for hitting 2 homers in his Indians debut, another "horrible" pickup by NH.

For those who said Milledge was cancer how you like those apples b i t c hes. For Dunn being a hall of famer? HOF's don't get pulled for pinch runners and strike out 3 times against a pitcher who should be 3-10. And Finally for those who said this team won't win 20 more games the rest of the way. 19 more to go. F U

Wow. Adam Dunn has been struck out three times by a pitcher described by that esteemed baseball expert serg as no better than 3-10. How many other Hall of Famers have struck out three consecutive times by an alleged 3-10 pitcher?

Wow, a left-handed hitting firstbaseman named Adam playing at PNC and looking at a third strike. With Dunn in town, it's like LaRoche never left.

It must really piss-off Sean to know Opie Dunn & himself is looking up at Pitts. in the standings. Since you're all about records.

I promise I'll get a sex change when Dunn gets into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot. What will you promise to do when he doesn't, think?

Adam Dunn will get into the Hall of Fame just like I will - by paying admission. A first ballot Hall of Famer - you can never talk about anyone else saying anything. That is the stupidest (that's how it's spelled, idiot) thing ever written.

Altoona's record isn't NH's fault because he only acquired 4 PLAYERS that have been on that team. One of them, Tabata, missed the first month due to injury. Another, Gorkys, was traded for after a month. Alvarez was called up a week before July started, and the 4th player, Alderson, hasn't pitched yet. Get a clue, f***head

Dunn is FAR from Kiner, Schmidt or Mickey. He won't make the Hall, I can guarantee that.

Serg, you're retarded. Did the "guards" forget to give you your medicine today? We can win with Alvarez, Tabata, Gorkys, etc. because they are young enough to build around. It's not like 28 year old McLouth, 29 year old Morgan, 30+ Nady and Bay and Freddy and Jack. If a team in AA is sending Yoslan Herrara out to pitch every 5th game, how many wins do you expect? Anoher thing, Lynchburg's team was built almost entirely by NH, and won the first half title... So if records prove something, then your saying that NH stockpiled a BUNCH of winners in last years draft. Way to contradict yourself, d-bag.
