Pirates Talk

Lastings Milledge

Seemingly Lastings Milledge has not learned a thing since his days with the Mets and Nationals. Milledge continues to push the envelope now with the Pirates. Allowing Milledge to wear uniform #85 a number normally seen not in baseball was the Pirates first mistake. Allowing Milledge to wear mostly white shoes with yellow strings was the second mistake. Also Milledge does not appear to be extending himself in the field especially on balls hit to the wall or in the corner. This guy has "problem" written all over him.

Lastings has worked hard since coming to the Pirates and worrying about his number or shoes is silly. He continues to work to improve and is hitting fairly well -- just need the power numbers to improve. Milledge , Cutch, and Tabata at least has some hope.

He seems to get better every day he's in the system and I wouldn't care if he wore 666 or if his shoe laces were neon green if he can play and he doesn't disrupt the clubhouse. We have to remember every young player had a chance to pout when crybaby Doumit pulled his act and they didn't. If he was a bad apple, it would have shown then. The question is whether he will continue to progress and get better. If he does, it was a good deal.

I think Milledge has carried himself very well since his call up>. I don't care what number he wears or what color his shoes are and up to this point I'll take the 24 year old Milledge over the 30 year old Morgan. Although Hanrahan is not a lefty (which the Bucs need) I see him as the future closer. Great Deal Neal!

who cares what number milledge is wearing and who cares what color his shoe laces are? whats pathetic is the fact that you have to point those things out because he has been nothing but a model citizen in the clubhouse and you have to bash on him somehow. although i havent been overly impressed by his defense, he made a couple of nice plays last night in colorado and is hitting 320 in his last 8 games. give the guy some time before you start bashing on him.

everyone has said that milledge is a 5 tool player.there has to be a reason why two teams would give up on a 24 year old so fast, now i think the fans in pittsburgh are getting a first hand look.like you said,he does not seem to hustle on the field. with the shoes its looks like he is trying to be like T.O.
